Cloud is a Red Tailed Hawk and was found on June 25, 2013 in East Hampton, NY with deep lacerations to the left hock joint and both wings.  He also suffered a ruptured air sac near his crop and trauma to his right eye.  After treatment and rehabilitation, he was transferred to The Raptor Trust in NJ for hunt testing.  Cloud failed his test for hunting capabilities due to loss of vision  in his right eye and was determined unreleasable.  Cloud was returned to The Center in the late Spring of 2014.

Red Tailed hawks have eye sight that is eight times better than a human.
