DESCRIPTION:Every year our EAWRC community gets together and enters our annual grocery raffle to help raise money to house\, treat and feed the wildlife that we rescue\, rehabilitate and release.   This year\, thus far\, we have had over 2200 injured raccoons\, squirrels\, songbirds\, raptors and more brought to the center for treatment! \nThe annual raffle proceeds help us to do much needed maintenance over the slower winter months\, while helping to feed those animals who live with us as education animals\, or who are just too young or weak to be released as the weather gets colder. \nPrizes include a $1000 Grocery Gift Card at the store of your choice\, a visit at your home (Suffolk County only) from the Education Animals and a Bat House and supplies for your home! \nTicket sales end at 11:59pm on December 14th\, and we will do the drawing on December 15th at 12 noon to choose the winners!    \nPlease buy some tickets today and help The Center and the wildlife all winter long!

Proceeds from the sale of art and donations at the event support EAWRC\, the only wildlife hospital on the East End of Long Island \nSoraya Padrao is an artist from Madrid\, currently based in Sag Harbor\, New York. Her passion for drawing and painting began in her youth but was set aside to pursue a career in acting. Two decades later\, she returns to art with a fresh perspective\, finding in abstract painting a renewed and authentic way to channel her artistic expression. Influenced by the bold energy of Expressionist artists like Kandinsky\, Pollock\, and Chagall\, her work explores movement and emotion to find harmony amidst the contrasts that define our existence. \nThrough her art\, she aims to convey a profound sense of balance\, where opposites do not repel but rather enrich one another. The vibrant hues juxtaposed against muted tones speak to the dynamic tension that exists within the human experience. \nThis exploration is not merely a visual endeavor; it is an invitation to engage with the complexities of life. By embracing duality\, she creates a space where contradictions coexist\, allowing for a more nuanced understanding of beauty and meaning. Join Tammy Flanell\, Education Animal Manager at the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center as she introduces us to a few feathered friends. How well do you know the Native wildlife on the East End? This is a great opportunity for kids and parents to learn more about ways they can interact and help their local wildlife and the people working to protect and preserve them. \nAttendees will learn a about the diversity of species on the East End\, the personal story of each bird visiting us\, and more about the rescue center.  By providing rehabilitation services for animals and education for humans\, the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center continues to preserve and protect. And you can too! \nFollowing the brief presentations\, the audience will be able to ask questions and take photos with the birds. Please note: Attendees will not be able to touch\, hold\, or pet the birds.
